Meanach Bothy

Meanach Bothy

LOCATION LAT/LONG .56.7754, -4.8390, NN 266 685, LR Map 41

If some things in life are worth a little extra effort, then getting to Meanach is an example where you reap a rich reward. This great little bothy can be found out in the middle, meadhan, of the surprisingly remote sweep of moorland between Fort William and Loch Treig, has an amazing view of the Grey Corries ridge and over to Binnein Beag and Sgùrr Eilde Mòr. The bothy is an old shepherd’s hut which sits across the Abhainn Rath from a larger house, Lùibeilt, now a ghostly ruin and guarded by a distinctive stand of conifers.
